In week 5, the team and I recorded our crazy eight ideation sessions and shared them in the Figjam. I watched the recording back and made some notes, and I noticed a lot of ideas similar to mine, which assured me that the team and I were on the same page.

The recording shows ideas I have thought of relating to the user setting up an item to sell and the options of how they can sell.

The next step was to vote and narrow down our final idea. The group and I had five votes each, and based on the final score, we decided to go for a service that sells the clothing item for the user saving them time and effort from doing it themselves. This solution is the most convenient and innovative way of supporting people to recycle and be sustainable.

In the following steps, we divided the team again: Jake and Alex will be working on the initial pitch slides, and Alaa and I will be working on the user journey and wireframing. There are three potential user journeys:

  1. The user sends the box of clothes and gets a price and accepts this offer

  2. The user sends the box of clothes and gets a price and accepts some prices and declines some prices

  3. The user sends the box of clothes and gets a price and declines the offer

However, due to time constraint, the team decided to focus on the happy path to simplify the process.

Regarding innovative features, we have decided to implement AR technology in the service. The customer uses their device and takes a picture of their pile of clothes. The AR technology estimates the size of the box, which is determined by the size/amount of clothes, so they can send to the user to pack their items. This is a hassle-free step as the user doesn't need to spend extra time looking for an appropriate size box elsewhere. The idea of the service is to make it seamless and easy for the user to sell their unused clothes.

Retrospective

Alaa presented our first retrospective in one of our meetings which was a positive way to evaluate the project's progress. Seeing so many positive outcomes and feedback from the team was insightful and felt rewarding. I believe each team member brings something to the table, and communication, productiveness and organisation are shown well. Negative things were the lack of motivation from evening meetings, having too many meetings and the weekly content. It is quite challenging to meet in the evenings, but it is the only way we can as we all work full-time. From next week we have changed the schedule to a little earlier, so I hope it will improve the collaboration.

Another improvement we have decided on is to split the team in other ways so that we all get to experience working with different people in pairs. I have yet to work with Jake and Alex, so I hope to learn new skills with them in the upcoming weeks. Although it isn't anyone's fault how the team is split and it all depends on what tasks people want to take on, it would be lovely to spend time with others in the group.
